The purpose of this association is to contribute to an orderly, constructive and beneficial relationship between the Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association.

The Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association is the sole bargaining agent for Canadian postmasters and assistants in rural Canada. The association was incorporated October 12, 1962 under the laws of Canada as a non-profit organization without share capital. The BC Yukon Branch of the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association has a membership of approximately 499 members within 276 offices. The BC Yukon Branch was established in 1919. This Association strives to protect the rights of their members under the contract as well as the law, to do everything possible to secure a healthy and safe place of work, strengthen the union, encourage solidarity, and make its policies effective. The BC Yukon Branch is comprised of six elected officers dedicated to its members.
